Why did you call your application "Suricate" ?

The suricate ( or meerkat ) is a small mammal well known for its vigilance, as they often have a "sentry" on guard watching for predators.
This behaviour is a good illustration of what we would like our system to be, and we also like this name a lot ;-)

Is the account activation mandatory ?

No. Activation is only required if you wish to use the password protection feature

What is this password protection feature ?

It avoids your children to bypass the addon by requesting a password when you want to :

• disable filtering
• uninstall/unactivate the addon
• add urls in the whitelist

Why is the password not required for any insertion of a url in the whitelist ?

If password protection is activated, the password is only asked once per session : for example, when you first want to insert a url in the whitelist.
If you later want to add another url in the whitelist, the addon will remind that you have entered the password.
But if you restart firefox, then wnat to add a url in the whitelist, the password will be prompted.

I want to uninstall the addon, but the button is disabled. What should I do ?

Both buttons ( uninstall and disable ) are disable by default, to prevent your children from uninstalling this filtering tool.
However, you can change this default setting via Suricate's options ( Tools>Addons>Suricate - Options )
Choose "yes" for the value of the third option ( Enable Unactivate/Uninstall ... ) the click on Save.
You should now be able to remove the addon.

I did not receive the email to confirm my activation.

Did you look in your junk or spam filder of you mailbox ?
If the message is not there, you can send a new activation request using the option's window of the addon.
The initial one will be discarded.
